What is a listing?

A Listing job involves creating, managing, and optimizing product or service listings on various platforms, such as e-commerce websites or real estate portals. Responsibilities typically include writing descriptions, adding images, updating pricing, and ensuring listings meet platform guidelines. The role may also involve SEO optimization to improve visibility and attract potential buyers.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a listing agent?

As a Listing Agent, your daily tasks often include meeting with clients to discuss property listings, preparing comparative market analyses, staging homes, and coordinating property showings. You'll also spend significant time inputting listings into the MLS, marketing properties across various platforms, and responding to buyer inquiries. Working closely with photographers, stagers, and other real estate professionals is common, as well as maintaining regular communication with your clients to provide updates. Managing paperwork and ensuring compliance with real estate regulations are ongoing parts of the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the listing position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Listing Agent role, a strong background in real estate principles, local market knowledge, and an active real estate license are generally required. Familiarity with Multiple Listing Service (MLS) platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and digital marketing tools is important. Exceptional communication, negotiation skills, and attention to detail help Listing Agents build client relationships and ensure smooth transactions. These skills ensure accurate property representation, effective marketing, and successful sales outcomes for clients.

  • Perform keyword research and implement SEO best practices to maximize product visibility and rankings.
  • Monitor listings for accuracy, suppression issues, or compliance with Amazon policies.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in additional marketplaces (Walmart, Target Plus, eBay, etc.) is a plus.
