The Role

The Vice President of Lighting Growth is responsible for developing and executing the company's lighting sales growth strategy across all customer segments, including contractor, commercial, industrial, institutional, utility, and OEM markets. This executive leader drives revenue growth, expands gross margin performance, strengthens and nurtures strategic vendor partnerships, and provides overall leadership for the company's lighting business. The VP establishes and executes long-term growth initiatives, identifies new market opportunities, and ensures alignment between sales, supplier relationships, and business objectives to maximize profitability and market share.

The VP of Lighting Growth will collaborate with our sales team, purchasing department, and vendors to position the company as a preferred lighting solutions provider. The role focuses on accelerating profitable growth through innovative lighting solutions, project development, specification influence, and sales team development.


Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives to expand the company's lighting business, market share, and profitability. 
  • Drive revenue growth by partnering with sales teams, key accounts, contractors, engineers, architects, and end users. 
  • Lead lighting business development efforts, including LED retrofits, lighting controls, energy management, and smart building technologies. 
  • Collaborate with Regional and Branch Managers to improve sales performance through coaching, training, and accountability measures. 
  • Monitor market trends, construction activity, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities. 
  • Build and manage supplier relationships and maximize manufacturer incentives and marketing investments. 
  • Partner with purchasing team to optimize product availability, project execution, and customer experience. 
  • Manage financial performance, including sales growth, gross margin improvement, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.


Preferred Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in electrical distribution, lighting, manufacturing, or a related industry. 
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of lighting applications, controls, energy efficiency programs, and smart building technologies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic customer, supplier, and industry relationships. 
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and performance management. 
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to identify market opportunities and execute data-driven growth strategies.
