Job description

Power of Clean Energy is seeking a dynamic, technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our team in Nashville, TN. This role combines engineering expertise with a consultative sales approach to deliver customized building solutions that drive value for our clients.
What you'll do:
  • Leverage your technical knowledge to identify and develop building comfort, performance, and energy-saving opportunities that include HVAC, building controls, and energy technologies such as lighting, solar power, battery storage, chillers, boilers, and industrial processes.
  • Craft and present proposals to end use clients for tailored solutions for HVAC retrofits, building automation systems, energy efficiency improvements, decarbonization and electrification strategies, and overall facility performance enhancement.
  • Utilize your knowledge of incentive and rebate programs, as well as utility tariffs, to optimize return on investment and overall financial benefits of the energy projects.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Drive consultative, solution-based sales to achieve or exceed performance targets.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred).
  • 5-10+ years of experience in energy engineering, consulting, or energy services sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of building energy systems, including HVAC, chillers, boilers, automation and controls, distributed generation, renewable energy, and performance analytics.
  • Familiarity with regional utility energy efficiency programs, tariffs, and rate structures.
  • Expertise in system design, energy auditing, and retro-commissioning (a plus).
  • Proven success in consultative, solution-oriented sales and project development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
