JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a full-time Lighting Controls Field Technician to join our dynamic and growing team. Successful candidate will work with contractors and facilities customers to commission and program lighting controls systems from multiple vendors. Individual will work with GBA Controls support, project managers, and sales staff throughout the construction process.
This Job consists of the following primary roles:
  • Configure systems based on intent and sequence of operations per specifications (50%)
  • Troubleshoot systems and related lighting components as necessary (25%)
  • Warranty, Service Calls, Inside Sales Support (10%)
  • Coordinate and perform Training Sessions with End-Users for project completion (5%)
  • Manage job-site reporting in coordination with Field Services Scheduler (5%)
  • Continuous Improvement and Professional Development. (5%)

JOB SUMMARY
Gasser Bush Associates is seeking a Lighting Controls Field Technician. This role is responsible for the complete and successful commissioning of our networked lighting control systems at the customer's completed job location. The candidate will be based in our Livonia office but the day-to-day duties will be completed in the field throughout our territory of NW Ohio and SE Michigan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meetings with Contractors during pre-installation phase
Coordinate with Commissioning partners on jobs
Configure systems based on intent and sequence of operations per specifications
Troubleshoot systems and related lighting components as necessary
Coordinate and perform Training Sessions with End-Users for project completion
Warranty and Service Calls
Manage job-site reporting in coordination with Field Services Scheduler
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or Technical College program completion in a related field
Lighting Software Experience
Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to Read and Understand Electrical Plans
Excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with others
Ability to Adapt 'on-the-fly' to unexpected changes on projects
Lighting Experience preferred
Low-voltage, digital, and Network Communication Systems Experience
Understanding of wireless protocols (BLE 802.15.1, Zigbee 802.15.4, Wi-Fi 802.11) helpful but not required
Willingness to travel as required - training class trips, 2-3 times per year for up to 4 days at a time
