Position Summary

The Human Resources Director serves as a strategic HR partner to community leadership teams across multiple LifeSpire communities. This role provides oversight, guidance, and support to community HR teams while ensuring compliance with employment laws, promoting employee engagement, and supporting organizational initiatives.

The HR Director works closely with Executive Directors, community leadership teams, and Home Office leadership to drive HR best practices, strengthen workplace culture, and address complex employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

HR Team Leadership & Support

  • Provide oversight, coaching, and development for community Human Resources teams.
  • Interview, select, onboard, and manage direct reports.
  • Establish performance expectations and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Support HR team development through coaching, training, and growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource for policy interpretation, HR best practices, and operational guidance.
  • Provide interim HR Generalist or onboarding support when community staffing needs arise.

Employee Relations & Team Member Support

  • Lead and oversee team member investigations and employee relations matters.
  • Coach HR Generalists and leaders on appropriate investigation processes and documentation.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, corrective action, and employee development.
  • Assist with escalated employee concerns, investigations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Build strong working relationships that promote engagement, retention, and a positive workplace culture.

Engagement & Culture

  • Collaborate with community leaders to implement team member engagement initiatives.
  • Support employee recognition programs, events, and retention strategies.
  • Help foster a culture aligned with LifeSpire’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Partner with leadership teams to strengthen morale and improve the overall employee experience.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze employee feedback and engagement data through We Care Connect.
  • Identify trends and partner with leadership to develop action plans and measure outcomes.
  • Ensure employee feedback notifications and follow-up processes are handled appropriately and timely.
  • Prepare reports and HR metrics for Executive Directors and organizational leadership.

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner regularly with Executive Directors and Associate Executive Directors.
  • Support organizational change initiatives through effective communication and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Participate in leadership development and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, employment law, and HR best practices.
  • Experience coaching leaders and supporting organizational change.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and workforce management tools.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units.
  • Healthcare, senior living, or service industry experience.
