About AgeSmart

AgeSmart is an innovative program by LifeSpire of Virginia, designed to support healthy, independent adults aged 55 and over who wish to age in place. By providing access to comprehensive care coordination, asset protection, and long-term care services, AgeSmart offers peace of mind for members and their families. The program empowers individuals to maintain their independence while having a trusted plan for future care needs.

As the Membership Counselor, you will play a vital role in introducing prospective members to the benefits of AgeSmart, guiding them through the enrollment process, and serving as a trusted resource throughout their decision-making journey.

Position Summary

The Membership Counselor is responsible for driving sales and membership growth for the AgeSmart program and reports directly to the Executive Director. This role consistently meets or exceeds activity expectations and sales goals while representing AgeSmart throughout the community with referral partners, prospective members, and professional organizations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of LifeSpire of Virginia by serving members, families, and colleagues with professionalism and integrity.
  • Support the strategic goals and direction of the organization.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Director to review sales activities, performance, and goals.
  • Conduct informational seminars and webinars for prospective members.
  • Manage the complete sales process, including:
    • Scheduling appointments
    • Conducting consultations
    • Presenting the AgeSmart program
    • Following up with prospects
    • Addressing questions and concerns
    • Guiding applicants through enrollment and contract completion
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources through networking events, professional meetings, community organizations, and outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and referral information within the CRM and prepare weekly and monthly reports as requested.
  • Update marketing and contact databases with new leads.
  • Consistently achieve annual membership and sales goals.
  • Protect the confidentiality of member information.
  • Collaborate effectively with LifeSpire team members across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of successful sales experience, including consumer sales to older adults.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and communicate effectively with prospects, members, families, referral partners, and community organizations.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to achieve ambitious sales goals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and community partners.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and sensitivity to the needs of older adults.
  • Knowledge of the aging process and the physical and psychosocial needs of older adults.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
Schedule

General working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening meetings and community events are required.
