Schedule: 9:30 am- 3:00 pm during school year- 10 months/ 180 Day
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Qualification and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience:
Prior library experience or associates or bachelor's degree preferred
JOB GOAL
To support the daily operations of school library, maintaining knowledge of the library's resources and interacting positively with students and staff to facilitate their use of the library.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintains material and equipment inventory of library materials (e.g. library books, library hardware/software, textbooks, audio books, media equipment, computers, printers, periodicals, related instructional materials).
  • Assists with circulation desk by checking in/out library materials, generating overdue books/media lists and preparing lists of fines due. As assigned, prepares and delivers in accordance with school procedure notices of overdue library materials and fines due. When library materials are returned in damaged condition, removes them from circulation and brings to supervisor's attention for further instructions. Receives telephone calls and provides answers to questions or accurate message for response by appropriate person.
  • Assists with scheduling for class use of library.
  • Answers questions for and assists library users with location and use of library materials and with use of the catalog system, relaying questions to supervisor when unable to provide a proper answer or assistance.
  • Operates a variety of media equipment, computer equipment and systems such as media duplication, smart boards, laminators, recorders and players as part of providing library media services to students and staff.
  • Accurately shelves new and returned library materials and re-shelves improperly shelved library materials and those left about the library on a regular basis to ensure their availability as a resource to students and staff. Maintains and organizes periodicals, catalogs and similar library materials.
  • Assists with processing library materials acquisitions as directed, to include ordering, checking invoices against receipt of orders and preparation for shelving in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintains computerized and paper records as assigned in accordance with procedure.
  • Reviews condition of current library materials and recommends repair or disposal of damaged library materials or retirement of out of date library materials. Repairs or secures repair of library by outside vendors as directed. Disposes of library materials as directed in accordance with procedures.
  • Assists with bulletin board/displays for library as directed.
  • Monitors library users' and volunteers' activities and use of computers in library and brings any concerns to supervisor or teacher in charge.
  • Assists with inventory and completion of end of year reports.
  • Familiarizes self with and abides by District policies, library procedures and copyright law issues necessary to performance of tasks.
