Job description

This library supports OTECH contracts and includes specifications and standards, 2D, 3D models, templates, toolboxes, and various ancillary data and artifacts. The Library and supporting personnel manage release and life-cycle status of all Library materials. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and integrates data across a variety of OTECH functions.

REQUIRED:

  • Technical training in CAD software (i.e., SW Mechanical, SW Electrical, Altium, and/or AutoCAD). 
  • 8+ years of experience in parts management, configuration management, or related fields. 
  • Proficiency in PDM, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and familiarity with 3DExperience and Costpoint. 
  • Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.1, ANSI/EIA 649, and ISO-9000 standards. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior supervisory or functional leader experience.
  • Solid experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

DESIRED:

  • Experience with data governance, parts standardization, and digital library management. 
  • Knowledge of DoD/Navy contract requirements and compliance processes. 
  • Familiarity with integration between PDM and ERP and PLM systems. 
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Master's degree in related field.

  • Oversee integration between PDM and Costpoint systems to maintain accurate part and cost data. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and IPS teams to ensure timely and accurate parts availability.  
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and part standardization practices. 
  • Monitor, report on, and improve library access, activity, architecture, and processes to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. 
  • Provide training and guidance to OTECH personnel on tools, standards, and best practices.
  • Review engineering drawings and/or specifications and ability to provide guidance to design and modeling practices.
  • Implement protocols and standards for managing library content, processes, and requirements. 
  • The PDM Parts Library will be integrated with OTECH's PLM solution, and the Part Library Manager will play a key role in setting up and maintaining this integration.
