Job description

Part-time Substitute position provides service coverage for Circulation Assistants who are on vacation, ill, etc. Hours worked will vary week to week depending on staffing needs.


Responsible for the checkout and check-in of materials, money handling, registering new customers, maintaining the customer database on the library's automation system, and preparing library cards. Position works almost exclusively with the public in-person and over the telephone. Ability to work well in a team environment required. Applies library circulation policies while providing Unparalleled Customer Service.


Requires excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly customer service attitude in order to excel in Our Culture.


Requirements & Skills

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (especially Outlook mail and Word) is required.


Education

High school degree or equivalency.


Hours and Scheduling

Part-time, year-round position. Variable, 1 to 19 hours per week and will include daytime, evening and weekend hours. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
