What is the difference between Library Bachelor vs Library Technician?
| Aspect | Library Bachelor | Library Technician |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field | Associate's degree or diploma in Library Technology |

| Employer & Industry Usage | Libraries, educational institutions, research centers | Libraries, archives, information centers |
| Common Search & Comparison | Higher education, research, management roles | Technical support, cataloging, circulation |
The main difference between a Library Bachelor and a Library Technician lies in their education requirements and roles. A Library Bachelor typically holds a bachelor's degree and may take on more administrative or research-oriented tasks, while a Library Technician usually has an associate's degree and handles technical support, cataloging, and circulation duties. Both roles are essential in library operations but differ in scope and responsibilities.

Student Supervision:
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, reviewing time and attendance, and evaluating performance of student employees.
The specialist does not supervise librarian or staff employees but does supervise student employees. The number of students supervised ranges from 1 to 3 and represents up to 1.5 FTE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of related experience in print serials or electronic resources OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
These qualifications are required by the library in addition to the minimum required qualifications of the University listed above.
