Located on six Georgia State University campuses throughout metro Atlanta, the University Library provides faculty and students with open and inviting educational facilities and an active online experience. As an integral part of the University community, the library welcomed more than 1.4 million visitors in the past year. As a valued partner in student success, the library supports both teaching and research with extensive collections, innovative solutions, and outstanding assistance. The University Library is seeking to hire a Library Team Associate I on a part - time basis (20 hours a week)at our Decatur campus
The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:
  • Assist in the daily operation of the library's primary service point, including serving as primary coverage.
  • Complete basic circulation functions such as charging, discharging, and renewing library materials on Alma platform.
  • Answer patron questions in person or by phone regarding library services, resources, and general campus queries.
  • Perform regular walk-throughs throughout the shift to periodically assess and address library operation issues, including supply replenishment, noise, trash, patron behavior/disruption, facilities, study room occupancy, and technology.
  • Explain and enforce library policies and procedures.
  • Assist patrons with placing and/or receiving library inter-campus loans, GIL Express, and ILL requests.
  • Processes daily incoming/outgoing mail, which includes fulfilling call slip requests via inter-campus, ARCHE, and Stat mail.
  • Assist with larger-scale library projects and events, including space and collection management and campus programming.
  • Other duties assigned.

Minimum Hiring Qualifications
