Anticipated Start Date: September 8, 2026
Hours: Scheduled 8 to 10 hours a week, plus an opportunity to substitute for additional hours after training is complete. Hours may be scheduled between 7:30 am and midnight weekdays, Saturdays between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, and Sundays between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
CWS Library Staff support and assist the Senior Library Staff in the performance of regular library duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Support and Model the policies and standards of Crown College as stated in the Student Handbook and Crown Community Covenant.
  • Evidence of Christian character and a commitment to encourage others toward Christ-likeness.
  • Must be in good standing with the college.

Responsibilities:
  • Circulation:
    • Process loans, returns, in-house book counts, renewals, fines, etc.
    • Retrieve material from book drops and in-house carts, sensitize and desensitize books, and place material in call number order.
    • Stack responsibilities: accurately shelve returned material, shelf-read to ensure proper order of books, organize and dust shelves, shift books where space is needed, etc.
  • Customer service:
    • Assist patrons at the InfoDesk
    • Understand and communicate circulation policies
    • Assist patrons with basic questions and location of material,
    • Refer reference questions to senior staff,
    • Assist patrons with library equipment,
    • Report unresolved computer and printer issues to IT via help tickets or phone calls,
    • Properly answer incoming phone calls,
    • Handle payment of fines and book sale purchases,
    • Advise patrons 15 minutes before library closings, etc.
  • Other regular tasks:
    • Open and close the library,
    • Maintain general order by picking up trash, dusting, vacuuming small areas, wiping down surfaces, pushing in chairs, cleaning white boards, filling the printer with paper, running errands, and other duties as needed.
  • Special projects:
    • Process new material, withdraw material, data entry, digitization of archives, etc.
