Position: Library Teaching Assistant - Part Time (Posting Number 2627-3800)

Requirements: Must have NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant - Level I, Level II or Level III or have NYS certification as a teacher
We strongly welcome candidates with the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:
  • Check books in and out
  • Help students locate library materials
  • Maintain accurate attendance records
  • Fill and generate interlibrary loan requests
  • Collect and report data on resource use
  • Generate, deliver, and follow up on overdue notices
  • Shelve books using Dewey Decimal classification
  • Answer the phone and direct library inquiries
  • Process new books and repair damaged books
  • Move around the library to actively supervise students.
  • Check in book and supply orders and assist in generating new orders
  • Assist in the design and execution of physical and digital library displays and promotions
  • Assist students in navigating the library catalog, databases, Ebook collection, and multimedia collection
