Job Summary:

The Library Aide supports the efficient operation of the library by assisting patrons, organizing library materials, and performing routine clerical tasks. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a quiet, organized environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet and assist library students with locating books, materials, and resources.
  • Check library materials in and out using the library's circulation system.
  • Shelve books and other materials according to library classification systems.
  • Organize and maintain library shelves to ensure materials are in proper order.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up library programs, events, and displays.
  • Process returned materials and inspect them for damage.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming library environment.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and preparing materials.
