Chief of Staff

NxT Level

Manhattan, NY • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff
Location: Remote (US preferred)
Reports to: CEO & COO
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience + meaningful equity
Stage: Early-stage, venture-backed (Lightspeed Ventures)
The Opportunity
We're building a new kind of Multiplayer Operating System, a modern, chat-first platform that blends communication, creativity, and intelligence to help people form real friendships on the internet.
To do this well, our executives need leverage.
We're looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant who operates with a Chief of Staff mindset-someone whose personal mission is to empower executives to be the best leaders they can be for their teams. This is not a reactive calendar-only role. This is a proactive, trusted partner position at the center of the company.
You will work directly with the CEO and COO to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a fast-moving, venture-backed organization.
What You'll Do
  • Act as a strategic extension of the CEO and COO-anticipating needs, removing friction, and creating leverage
  • Own complex calendaring, prioritization, and scheduling across internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare executives for meetings by creating briefs, talking points, agendas, and follow-ups
  • Interface confidently with venture capital partners and senior external stakeholders
  • Help prepare investor materials, internal updates, decks, and written communications
  • Coordinate company-wide initiatives, offsites, and cross-functional efforts
  • Track key priorities, deadlines, and commitments to ensure nothing drops
  • Bring order to ambiguity and proactively propose systems, processes, and improvements
  • Serve as a cultural force multiplier-how you operate sets the tone

Who You Are
This role is for someone who:
  • Is deeply proactive-your instinct is to move before being asked
  • Finds fulfillment in enabling leaders and teams to operate at their highest level
  • Thrives in early-stage environments with fast context-switching and incomplete information
  • Can communicate clearly and confidently with executives, investors, and operators
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • Has strong judgment and knows when to push, protect, or escalate
  • Is equally comfortable handling logistics and contributing to strategic work
  • Treats discretion, trust, and reliability as sacred

Non-Negotiables
  • Consistent proactivity (this is not a reactive role)
  • Executive presence and strong written/verbal communication
  • Ability to work directly with VCs and senior stakeholders
  • High ownership mindset-this is your function to run
  • Desire to grow into broader Chief of Staff-style responsibilities over time

Team & Culture
You'll be supporting a leadership team and company built by people from top consumer, social, and gaming organizations, including backgrounds at Discord, Apple, Google, Twitter, and AAA studios.
We value:
  • Trust and discretion
  • Ownership over instruction
  • Clear thinking in chaotic environments
  • People who raise the bar for how a company operates

Why This Role Matters
This role creates leverage at the highest level of the company.
By enabling the CEO and COO to operate with clarity, focus, and energy, you directly impact the pace, health, and effectiveness of the entire organization. The systems you build, the meetings you shape, and the moments you protect will ripple across the team.
If your life goal is to help leaders lead better-and you take pride in being the person behind the scenes who makes everything work-this role is for you.
