A nationally recognized plaintiff's law firm is seeking a Legal Technology Operations Specialist to help ideate, build, and scale the systems that power our litigation teams.
This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of technology, operations, data, automation, and law. You will work directly with firm leadership, attorneys, and staff to pinpoint operational challenges, design solutions, and implement improvements that have immediate impact across the organization.
We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving ambiguous problems, and building systems that help a rapidly scaling law firm operate more effectively. This role offers significant growth potential for a high-performing candidate. Someone who takes ownership, builds impactful systems, and becomes a key driver of the firm’s technology operations will have the opportunity to grow substantially over time.
Responsibilities
- Partner with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to translate business problems into practical technical solutions.
- Design, build, and maintain workflow automations across legal and business platforms.
- Develop integrations using APIs, webhooks, automation tools, and structured data workflows.
- Analyze data, audit system performance, and identify operational bottlenecks.
- Build reports, dashboards, and internal tools that improve visibility and decision-making.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve workflow breakdowns.
- Evaluate and implement new legal technology, automation, and AI tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and help the firm scale efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience with technical systems, automation, data operations, software tools, or process improvement.
- Working knowledge of coding, scripting, or automation tools, with the ability to build solutions and learn new technologies as needed.
- Exposure to front-end or back-end development, including experience with languages and tools such as Python, JavaScript, and AWS services. Candidates do not need to be fluent in each, but should be comfortable reading documentation, understanding existing code, making guided updates, and continuing to develop their technical skills on the job.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with evolving priorities and incomplete information.
- Interest in legal technology, legal operations, litigation support, or the legal profession more broadly.
- Willingness to work additional hours when necessary to support urgent deadlines, critical system needs, or high-priority firm initiatives.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, case-management systems, or document-management systems is a plus.
Experience working in a startup, high-growth, or highly entrepreneurial environment where wearing multiple hats and independently driving solutions was expected.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a builder who enjoys owning projects from concept through implementation. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, communicating across technical and non-technical teams, learning new systems, and independently identifying opportunities for improvement. Most importantly, you are excited to apply technology and operational thinking in support of a plaintiff's law firm and the legal work it performs.
