AFF Compliance is seeking a highly motivated Risk & Compliance Analyst to support and enhance our compliance program in alignment with AFF's risk appetite and regulatory obligations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations, providing risk-based guidance to business partners, and helping strengthen AFF's overall control environment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can work independently while collaborating effectively across functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance testing, monitoring activities, and risk assessments to evaluate adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Identify, investigate, and document compliance concerns, partnering with stakeholders to perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Assist with regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits by preparing documentation, conducting independent compliance reviews, and coordinating responses and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business partners to strengthen policies, procedures, and controls while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and evolving business risks.
  • Analyze regulatory developments and emerging risks, providing recommendations to enhance compliance processes and controls.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, transparency, and proactive risk management throughout the organization.
  • Support ongoing compliance program initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.

What We're Looking For
  • Working knowledge of compliance, regulatory, legal, and operational risks, with an understanding of Second Line of Defense frameworks and practices.
  • Experience conducting compliance testing, monitoring, risk assessments, or related assurance activities with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risk, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to effectively challenge assumptions and influence outcomes through collaborative and constructive communication.
  • Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk.
  • Growth mindset with a strong interest in developing a long-term career within Risk & Compliance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in consumer regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Second Line of Defense functions, including compliance testing, issue management, complaint management, regulatory change management, or regulatory oversight activities.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective remediation strategies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
