Job description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support the General Counsel in our in‑house legal department. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working with financial and operational teams, and interested in hands‑on involvement in disputes, claims, and collections common to the construction and staffing industries.


Key Responsibilities

General Legal Support:

  • Provide administrative and legal support to the General Counsel in day‑to‑day legal operations
  • Assist with litigation and claims management, including organizing files, tracking deadlines, and preparing documents
  • Draft, format, and revise legal documents such as correspondence, contracts, and internal memoranda
  • Maintain legal calendars, including deadlines and compliance dates
  • Manage subpoenas, records requests, and document retention
  • Support compliance initiatives related to employment, safety, and regulatory matters
  • Coordinate with HR, operations, safety, and finance teams on legal requests and investigations
  • Assist with collections matters, including preparing demand letters, organizing supporting documentation, and tracking lien and bond claims
  • Coordinate with operations and finance teams to gather invoices, contracts, work confirmations, and other evidence supporting collections
  • Prepare and file small claims and other collection‑related pleadings under attorney supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information at all times


Qualifications

  • Experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative professional in a legal or collections‑related role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working with invoices, contracts, and financial documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with document management systems is a plus
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders


Preferred Experience (Not Required)

  • Experience with collections, small claims, liens, or payment disputes
  • Prior work in construction, staffing, or employment‑related industries
