Position Overview:

The Legal Process Intern will be responsible for completing tasks assigned by Legal Process Manager to assist the team in responding to legal process (such as subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants) served on SECU and related credit unions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review simple and routine legal process received by SECU and related credit unions.
  • Work closely with Legal Process Analysts and Specialists to ensure all applicable records are provided in response to simple and routine legal process.
  • Answer Legal Services phone line and ensure calls are handled politely, efficiently and appropriately.
  • Assisting in responding to inquiries sent to the Legal Process email inbox.
  • Completing administrative tasks essential to the Legal Process team's function.
  • Accept other duties and responsibilities that are assigned.

Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

  • Enrolled in a 4-year degree program.
  • Ability to adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.
  • Ability to speak English fluently.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Desire to learn how to provide paralegal support.
  • Organizational and Administrative skills.

Job Environment & Physical Demand:

  • Office setting with physical proximity to other employees.
  • Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Hybrid remote work as appropriate.
  • Must be able to comprehend phone calls and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • May require a substantial amount of sitting.
