Provide operational oversight of third party leave vendor. Administer accommodations programs. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert (SME) on leave management consistent with local, state and federal regulations.The work location for this exciting opportunity is Holly Springs, NC and will support FLB's Holly Springs and Morrisville locations.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Administers routine leave of absence requests including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), company, military, personal, and parental leave, as well as applicable state and local leave programs; collaborates with Employee Relations Partner for complex matters

  • Coordinates leave intake, eligibility determination, required documentation, designation notices, extensions, and return-to-work activities using established procedures

  • Supports the ADA/ADAAA interactive process by coordinating documentation, scheduling meetings, tracking accommodations, and maintaining accurate records Serves as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, timelines, required documentation, and available resources

  • Coordinates with third-party leave administrators to ensure timely processing and accurate case management

  • Maintains confidential employee leave records and ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements

  • Monitors leave activity, identifying upcoming expirations, certification deadlines, and return-to-work requirements, and prepares standard reports to support compliance and workforce planning

  • Partners with Payroll and Benefits to ensure appropriate pay, benefit continuation, and leave coding during employee absences

  • Assists with audits related to leave administration and maintains documentation supporting regulatory compliance

  • Identifies opportunities to improve leave administration processes and employee communications

  • Escalates complex, high-risk, or legally sensitive leave or accommodation matters to senior HR or Legal

  • Supports other People and Culture initiatives

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Requirement / Certifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, human resources, business administration, or related field, and 2+ years of professional work experience in benefits administration, including LOA and compliance, or equivalent combination of education and experience administering benefit programs may be considered

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state leave laws 

  • Previous experience in LOA, Paid Family Leave, ADA, etc. administration

  • Strong knowledge of federal and multiple state leave laws 

  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Problem-solving and analytical abilities. Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with all levels of the organization. Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional work experience in benefits administration, including LOA and compliance, or equivalent combination of education and experience administering benefit programs may be considered

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 60 minutes

    • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time up to 60 minutes 

    • Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers. 

    • Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools. 

    • Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 10 pounds.
