Summary of position:
Teach students with various learning needs, specifically in the area of Reading. Looking for an individual who is certified in multisensory reading methods and approaches, specialically, Wilson Reading System and/or Orto Gilligham Approach. Responsible for planning and implementing an effective program of instruction based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Job Responsibilities (see attached description for additional details):
  • Organize and implement curriculum and instruction for students with Learning Disabilities using a structured multisensory approach.
  • Instruct students at targeted developmental levels in academics.
  • Understand and implement all processes according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Chapter 14, as well as BCIU and school district policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Teacher Certification in Special Education and any General Education Certification. Reading Specialist Certification, preferred.
  • A minimum three years experience in working with students with disbailities.
  • Certifed in Wilson Reading System and/or Orton Gilligham Approach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Schedule:
Full-time, 10 months/year

  • Bachelor = $52,919 to $81,690
  • Bach+15 credits = $53,636 to $82,415
  • Bach+24 credits = $54,427 to $83,215
  • Masters = $64,370 to $93,955
  • Mast+15 credits = $65,063 to $94,655
  • Mast+30 credits = $65,755 to $95,355
  • Mast+45 credits = $67,141 to $96,755
  • Mast+60 credits = $68,377 to $98,005
