Learning Experience Manager (this hybrid role can be based in: Washington DC, Plano TX, or NYC)

We're looking for a high-ownership, creative, and operationally savvy Learning Experience Manager who can lead both the creation and execution of scalable training programs for our restaurant teams.


This role sits at the intersection of instructional design, visual storytelling, and operational execution. The Learning Experience Manager is responsible for translating business needs into clear learning solutions, managing a small team of instructional designs, and ensuring learning content is delivered on time, on brand, and ready for the field.


Success in this role requires strong project leadership, design capability, and operational judgeent. You will manage intake, prioritize initiatives, delegate work across the team, and personally produce high-quality learning experience is a fast moving environment.


This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic thinking with execution.

What You'll Do:


Learning Design & Curriculum Development

  • Design and develop scalable learning programs for restaurant leaders and hourly team members
  • Produce high-quality training content including eLearning modules, facilitator guides, job aids, and leadership curriculum
  • Create visually compelling learning assets that reflect CAVA's brand standards and support real operational use
  • Translate operational processes into clear, field-ready training materials
  • Write scripts, storyboards, and learning narratives for digital and instructor-led training


Learning Operations + Project Leadership

  • Own the L+D intake process and translate requests into scoped learning projects
  • Prioritize initiatives for team based on business impact, timelines, and field readiness
  • Build and manage project plans, milestones, and deliverables for learning initiatives
  • Ensure learning projects move from concept to launch efficiently and on schedule
  • Proactively identify risks, adjust timelines, and communicate project status to stakeholders




LMS Administration + Learning Technology

  • Oversee LMS administration including course structure, content uploads, reporting, and user experience
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure learning content is accessible, trackable, and scalable
  • Manage vendor relationships and learning technology tools
  • Maintain LMS content governance and ensure learning materials remain current and effective


Team Leadership + Quality Control

  • Lead and mentor a small team of instructional designers and learning specialists
  • Delegate work appropriately while maintaining ownership of overall project delivery
  • Establish quality standards for learning content, ensuring materials are accurate, brand-aligned, and ready for deployment
  • Review and refine team deliverables before launch to ensure clarity, accuracy, and instructional effectiveness
  • Build feedback loops to continuously improve learning experiences


Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, People + Culture, Culinary, Field Training, and other teams to identify learning needs and develop solutions
  • Translate complex operational processes into practical training programs
  • Support new initiatives, product launches, and operational updates through clear learning content


The Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, or training program management
  • Proven experience leading learning projects from intake through launch
  • Experience managing or mentoring instructional designers or learning specialists
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating instructional design, curriculum development, and visual learning design
  • Experience producing SCORM-compliant eLearning modules
  • Hands-on experience administering an LMS platform
  • Proficiency with authoring and design tools such as Articulate (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, or similar tools
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable learning solutions
  • Strong written communication skills including scriptwriting, curriculum writing, and learning content development
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Hospitality or restaurant operations training experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
