Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
Student Teams Achieving Results (STAR) is one Experiential Learning Programs for graduate and undergraduate business students in the Kenan-Flagler Business School. STAR provides students with an opportunity to engage with corporate partners to address real business challenges. STAR helps students develop effective leadership skills, teamwork capabilities, and executive level presentations. This selective program chooses undergraduate (BSBA) and MBA students (including fulltime, MBA@UNC and Executive MBA students) and places them on a team of students coupled with a Faculty Advisor. STAR is a 4.5 academic credit hours course offered in the spring semester.
The Operations Manager serves the STAR leadership team by managing the daily activities of the program. The team includes an Executive Director, Director, and Program Assistant. The position reports to the Faculty Executive Director. The Operations Manager works in all operational aspects of the program, including recruiting, selecting students, contracting, planning events, and managing the budget. The Operations Manager will communicate regularly through a variety of methods with the major stakeholders, who include students, companies, faculty advisors, and potential corporate partners. The STAR leadership team uses TEAMS and other tools for overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
- Prior experience in academic program management;
- Proficiency in MS Office applications;
- Experience with Customer Relationship Software (CRM).

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
