SUMMARY:

The Instructional Designer (ID) will be responsible for designing and developing learning experiences in the form of instructional material, training courses, video training and other multimedia technologies. The Instructional Designer will work with other departments to determine what employees need to learn so they can successfully complete all job functions. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for determining learning objectives, writing content, structuring learning activities, and aids for both face-to-face and virtual interactions. The Instructional Designer will also develop assessments to measure learning and will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within various business units to ensure alignment with business objectives and meets any appropriate compliance requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs analyses to identify educational gaps and determine the learning objectives, target audience, and optimal instructional strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and performance goals
  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive curriculum frameworks and detailed instructional materials for various learning modalities (e.g., online, blended, in-person); translate complex technical or operational concepts into clear learning materials

· Project Management: Lead and manage instructional design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with educational goals and standards, within scope and budget

· Content Creation and Revision: Develop, review, and revise educational content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with instructional goals and learning outcomes

  • Learning Technologies Integration: Utilize and integrate appropriate learning technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance the learning experience and achieve instructional goals
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure the instructional materials meet the desired learning outcomes and adhere to best practices
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Design and implement assessment tools and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and make data-driven improvements based on feedback and performance metrics

COMPETENCIES:

  • Technical ID skills: Proficiency in e-learning authoring software such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and similar tools
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and multimedia development software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and stakeholders. Ability to present complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Strategic thinking: Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze training needs, identify innovative solutions, and drive performance improvement
  • Project management: Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines
  • Adaptability and innovation: Proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies, instructional design trends, and emerging methodologies to enhance training programs

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience

· 5+ years of experience in instructional design with a focus on digital and blended learning solutions

· Experience in both Instructor-led Training (ILT), Virutal, and E-Learning space

· Strong skills in E-Learning Authoring Tools: Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia

· Proven track record of leading and executing large-scale learning projects

· Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual learning platforms

· Track record of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, collaboration platforms and learning design programs
