Assistant Early Education Teacher
Grace Early Education - Tyler & Lindale Campuses

Hours: Part-Time (25 - 27.5 hours per week) | Monday-Friday only
Compensation: $12 - $14 hourly, negotiable based on education and experience
At Grace Early Education, we believe caring for young children is a ministry of love and purpose. As an Assistant Early Education Teacher, you help create a Christ-centered classroom where children are known, nurtured, and guided to grow in who God made them to be. You support the Lead Teacher in planning and leading daily activities that promote spiritual, emotional, social, and academic development-helping each child discover the joy of learning and the love of Jesus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging, age-appropriate lessons that integrate biblical truth.
  • Help maintain a warm, welcoming classroom that reflects Christ's love and encourages curiosity and creativity.
  • Model positive behavior, kindness, and patience in all interactions with children.
  • Supervise and assist children during play, meals, rest, and transitions, ensuring safety and care at all times.
  • Provide individualized attention and encouragement to each child.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and materials.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher, parents, and staff to support each child's growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings, chapel, and professional development opportunities to grow in teaching and faith.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is a plus.
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of early childhood development and Christian education principles.
  • Ability to support lesson implementation and classroom management.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A nurturing, dependable, and joyful presence who loves helping children grow in faith and learning.
Physical Requirements / Work Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and interaction at the child's level.
  • Work performed in a classroom setting with moderate noise levels and exposure to common childhood illnesses.
