QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED

Basic Requirements (All Positions)

  • Age: Minimum 18 years old
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field required
  • Experience: Working with children ages 3-5, preferably in licensed childcare setting
  • Certifications: Adult, Child, and Infant CPR within 6 months; basic first aid knowledge
  • Professional Competencies: Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, flexibility for varying schedules
  • Additional: Experience with low-income, multicultural families preferred

Preschool Teacher Aide II Requirements

  • Preschool Credential OR Child Development Associate Credential OR
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field plus completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course)

Teacher Aide III Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education OR
  • Related Associate's or Bachelor's degree with practicum and assessments providing unique enrichment (music, art, intervention therapy) with minimum 18 ECE credits

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Preschool Teacher Aide, you'll partner with the Classroom Teacher to:

  • Develop and implement activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Support programming for children ages 3-5 in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Ensure compliance with Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation, and Wisconsin YoungStar standards
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support multicultural and diverse learning experiences
  • Assist with daily classroom routines and specialized programming
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of the Classroom Teacher
