Job description

The Simulation Lab Assistant coordinates and facilitates simulation-based learning experiences, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives and accreditation standards. This role includes:
  • Assisting with the administration, organization, and assessment of simulation-based learning within the Nurse Anesthesia program
  • Preparing, maintaining, and operating simulation equipment and software
  • Providing technical and instructional support for students and faculty in simulation activities
  • Ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards for simulation-based education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Development and Assessment of Simulation-Based Education
  • Collaborates with faculty to design and implement simulation scenarios that align with curriculum objectives
  • Assists in the development and assessment of simulation-based competencies for students
  • Ensures simulation activities meet accreditation and programmatic standards

Coordination and Implementation of Simulation Activities
  • Schedules, sets up, and facilitates simulation lab sessions
  • Operates and troubleshoots simulation equipment, manikins, and related technology
  • Serves as a liaison between faculty, students, and simulation lab resources
  • Assists with data collection and analysis for simulation program assessment

Student and Faculty Support in Simulation-Based Learning
  • Provides orientation to students on simulation lab policies, procedures, and equipment
  • Supports faculty in running simulation scenarios and debriefing sessions
  • Offers guidance to students in applying simulation experiences to clinical practice

Compliance and Maintenance of Simulation Lab
  • Ensures proper maintenance and functionality of simulation equipment
  • Maintains inventory of lab supplies and assists in purchasing new equipment as needed
  • Ensures compliance with safety protocols and university policies related to simulation education

Qualifications:
  • CRNA with an earned Master or Doctoral degree
  • Holds an active unrestricted CRNA license/certification in any United States jurisdiction and the state where the program is located if required by the state's jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2 years full time CRNA practice experience
