Job Description SummaryThe Senior FLIGHT DECK Leader will lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Avionics using the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) are met. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement lean methodologies, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This role will require up to 30% Travel.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment and sustainment of the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model across various departments and teams.
  • Conduct value stream mapping, identify waste, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to educate and engage employees in lean principles and practices.
  • Develop and implement standard work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
  • Utilize lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and root cause analysis to drive problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align lean initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and coach team members to build lean capabilities and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all lean activities prioritize safety and comply with regulatory and company standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with 4 years of experience in lean transactional, engineering, and/or continuous improvement roles, or equivalent experience)
  • At least an additional 5 years of experience in lean transactional, engineering, and/or continuous improvement roles or equivalent experience applying Lean/Continuous Improvement tools

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business
  • 8+ years of experience in lean transactional, engineering, or continuous improvement roles within the aerospace industry
  • Proven track record of leading successful lean initiatives and driving measurable improvements
