Job Description:

The Director, MBS is a key leadership position reporting to the VP, Operations - In-Stock Kitchens. This position is responsible for developing and executing the continuous improvement strategy within the function, providing both strategic direction and hands-on leadership to identify opportunities, solve business challenges, and drive operational excellence. Working closely with leaders and teams throughout the organization, the Director, Continuous Improvement advances initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, cost reduction, and employee engagement while building a culture of continuous improvement through the MasterBrand Business System.

This position may be worked remotely with up to 75% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by leveraging MasterBrand Business System tools, methodologies, and change management principles.
  • Lead efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory management, and cost performance through structured continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to evaluate current processes, identify opportunities, and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Facilitate and coach teams in Lean methodologies including 6S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Changeover Reduction, A3 Problem Solving, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Develop internal capabilities by training and mentoring leaders and employees to sustain continuous improvement practices throughout the organization.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance data to identify trends, determine root causes, and drive business results.
  • Establish measurable performance metrics and monitor progress against key objectives.
  • Document, communicate, and standardize best practices to ensure successful improvements are shared and replicated across locations.
  • Build cross functional alignment and influence leaders at all levels to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Lead cultural transformation efforts that drive employee engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and organizational change.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean principles and driving cultural transformation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading multi site improvement programs and developing future leaders preferred.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills with the ability to influence across indirect reporting relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate vision, priorities, and expectations.
  • Advanced problem solving, analytical, and project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess processes, identify improvement opportunities, and drive measurable results.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and training skills with experience developing others.
  • Ability to build relationships and gain alignment among diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Experience utilizing Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Knowledge of financial drivers, key performance indicators, and performance measurement systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within consumer goods or make to order operations.
  • Experience with asset management and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) preferred.
