Senior Lean Practitioner

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lean Practitioner to join the Lean Center of Excellence (CoE) in Everett, WA, Berkeley or Saint Charles, MO, El Segundo, CA, Mesa, AZ, Ridley Park, PA, or Tukwila, WA.

This senior-level practitioner will independently plan, lead, and execute Lean and continuous improvement activities across BDS programs and functions. The role requires extensive hands-on practitioner skills, strong coaching capabilities, and the ability to support surge activities across the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coach and Facilitate Lean activities and initiatives across various programs & functions
  • Lead and execute Kaizen events, rapid process improvement workshops (3P), value stream mapping, process mapping, 5S+, structured problem solving, and process analysis to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop, deploy and execute an integrated continuous improvement strategy aligned with BDS goals; adapt strategy for program-specific needs
  • Deliver Lean training and capability development for frontline employees, supervisors, and leaders; build local trainer capability
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement sustainable process improvements; facilitate cross-site replication of best practices
  • Use data-driven analysis and metrics (cycle time, throughput, first-time quality, takt, process stability, etc.) to quantify opportunity, measure results, and sustain gains
  • Mentor and develop other Lean practitioners and internal change agents; provide on-the-job coaching during deployment
  • Prepare concise reports, executive summaries, and presentations for senior leadership on progress, opportunities, and risk mitigation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience using Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous improvement practices and tools in the workplace
  • 5+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • 3+ years' experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership
  • Proficient with data analysis and Lean metrics to support decision making and planning
  • Willing and able to work variable shifts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • 10+ years of experience in process improvement methodologies, particularly Lean, with a strong understanding of 5S and value stream mapping
  • 10+ years' experience teaching Lean tools and concepts
  • 10+ years' experience using the Boeing Production System (BPS)
  • Experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.,)

Saint Charles or Berkeley, MO, or Mesa, AZ: $116,450 - $157,550

El Segundo, CA, Ridley Park, PA, Everett or Tukwila, WA: 124,950 - 169,050
