Job description

Lead Network Support Engineer

Location: Downey, CA

Duration: 12 months

Client is looking for lead support engineer to provide operational support for Secure Browser Isolation (SBI) and the Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) technologies. These solutions will be managed by the Cyber Governance and Operations (CGO), Secure Access Operations Division (COD). The Consultant shall assist with the implementation, technical and postproduction operational support to ensure that the solutions are functioning and producing the security deemed necessary by the County.

Description of Work/Duties:

Interface with Secure Access Engineering (SAE) team to develop project plans and implementation details for the Secure Browser Isolation and Zscaler Internet access solutions.

Work with SAE and other teams within CGO to deploy these solutions to an initial test group, perform impact analysis and evaluate feedback from customers and test groups through all points of the deployment cycle.

Engage with customer departments and support vendors to resolve all identified issues or concerns regarding these solutions. Work with SAE to deploy these solutions for ISD and Countywide.

Work with various teams within ISD to identify all county issued laptops and mobile devices, identify users associated with the device, setup project plan to install ZIA internet content filtering agent on all identified devices.

Assist in developing on-going training programs, knowledge transfer for the customer departments, CGO support staff for technologies that support telework. Analyze product requirements and translating into a feasible technical solution.

Provide technical expertise to project managers, department management, vendors, security engineers and/or user management regarding one or more major system development or maintenance efforts.

Provide in-depth support for information security incidents, security breaches and internal violations/investigations.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network connectivity issues

Provide after-hours or weekend support on an as-needed basis.

Required Skills:

Two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years deploying, managing, and supporting Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Zscaler Private Access, and Zscaler Internet Access technologies.

Two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years as a systems administrator or network engineer supporting a network environment with multiple servers, 2,000+ users and multiple firewalls, switches, and routers. The network environment must consist of multiple VLANs in a single location and multiple physical locations connected through routers or similar layer-3 routing devices.

Two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years leading a project for a private or public agency with more than 2,000 employees.

Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in developing clear and precise process, workflow, and/or network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.

Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in developing formation information technology related documents such as operating procedures or guidelines, incidents reports, technology standards, and knowledge base articles.

Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years in mentoring or leading lower-level technical staff.
