Job description

Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Westminster, MD. Relocation assistance provided to eligible candidates!
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will support the development of the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) functional group, have a primary focus on continuous improvement and cost savings within manufacturing areas to advance the manufacturing capability of the site, provide necessary support to ensure annual growth of the organization and ensure all EHS activities and programs relating to Manufacturing engineers are met. They will be part of IPT (Integrated Product Team) cabinet and have a dotted line report to the plant manager or IPT director.
• Lead/support the Manufacturing Engineers in the completion of activities that effect Business Unit objectives (OPE, OTD, FPY, revenue etc.)
• Determine resource needs for the Manufacturing Engineering Team and best utilization of team members.
• Perform ME tasks as needed to ensure the plant meets daily/monthly/yearly needs.
• Provide Engineering Solutions and the Direction necessary to support the Manufacturing objectives of the sites multiple Integrated Product Teams.
• Support the ME's in the identification, acquisition, and integration of support equipment/tooling needed to establish and improve manufacturing capability.
• Support the ME in facilities layout evaluations and development in support of operational requirements and in conjunction with Management of Change responsibilities as needed.
• Support ME's to identify Site Capital Assets needed which includes creating Cap Ex proposals and ROI analysis.
• Support the development of skills, knowledge and dev plans of the ME Group.
• Strong communication skills across all functions of the business.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing processes / manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing engineering direct reports including career planning and yearly feedback/reviews
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in 2D/3D CAD software.
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in leading Continuous Improvement projects affecting multiple stakeholders.
• Experienced in Project Management Tools, Ergonomic Assessments, and certification in Lean/6 Sigma.
• Experience in Industry 4.0 transformations.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks) or similar software in designing tools/fixtures
• Experienced in the design, integration, and support of COTS and Custom Fabricated Assembly and Test Equipment.
