Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineer or Principal Industrial Engineer. This position will be located at our site in Warner Robins, GA. where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Depot Manufacturing Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
**Position is on-site in Warner Robins, GA. and cannot be performed remotely**
The primary responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
  • Build scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
  • Understands, maps and optimizes critical path product flow through the factory.
  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.
  • Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.
  • Assist with digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

This position may be filled at either Industrial Engineer or Principal Industrial Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for an Industrial Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 0 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Industrial Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a PhD degree with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
Qualifications Required for Both Levels:
  • Experience supporting operational customers with system execution
  • Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
  • ERP/MES experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidate will have sound technical experience and understanding of Production
  • Processes for Assembly, Fabrication, Planning & Tooling.
  • Must be able to obtain Active US Government Secret clearance at time of application

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with military programs.
  • Experience support Design Reviews, PFMEA Creation, DFM, Non-Conformance creation/support and Shop Floor support.
  • Experience with electrical connections, cable harness assembly, and stakeholder review within the design process.
  • Cost control or earned value experience.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Project (scheduling, resource loading, capacity, optimization)
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
