Job description

Position Summary: The Laundry Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing mechanical and service support to the Laundry & Uniforms Division of the resort.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position is $37.00 per hour. 

Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent GED strongly preferred.
  • Team-oriented mentality, with ability to work independently.
  • Must be responsible and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing minor repair work, which includes replacing air filters, light bulbs, sockets, strings on ironers, and cleaning lint screens.
  • Performing basic plumbing tasks, which includes replacing drain valves on washers, cleaning drain screens, as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
  • Performing regular cleaning duties, which includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Maintaining all outdoor areas, which entails keeping loading dock areas and trash collection areas tidy.
  • Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention. Reporting these issues to lead maintenance technician.
  • Taking inventory of maintenance supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
  • Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance equipment is in good working order.
  • Helping with plant operation duties during down time. This can include loading/unloading machines, driving routes, reading/responding to email requests, and folding linen.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, sometimes under extreme heat and stress, and must be able to remain calm.
