Support the planning and execution of many marketing, communication, and related tasks at the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, a top-10 ranked division of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Duties and responsibilities include writing, editing, social media, graphic design, outreach, program support, photography, video, contributor coordination, website content management, and a variety of other tasks to support the institute's mission to inspire and assist student entrepreneurs.
About the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute
The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute is a nationally ranked hub for student entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Utah and an interdisciplinary division of the David Eccles School of Business. The first programs were offered in 2001, through the vision and support of Pierre Lassonde, an alumnus of the Eccles School and successful mining entrepreneur. The institute now provides opportunities for thousands of students to learn about entrepreneurship and innovation. Programs include workshops, networking events, business-plan competitions, startup support, innovation programs, graduate seminars, scholarships, community outreach and more. All programs are open to students from any academic major or background. Responsibilities
  • Writes and edits a variety of marketing materials and feature articles
  • Manages social media planning, content development, and execution
  • Edits and publishes website content including text, photos, and graphics
  • Photographs and films various events and activities
  • Supports many student and community programs and activities
  • Assists with managing student and alumni marketing contributors
  • Manages outreach tasks as needed on and off campus
  • Contributes ideas and feedback on a wide variety of marketing projects
  • Joins a dedicated team of marketing professionals and students to achieve department goals
  • Works on the University of Utah campus in various locations and occasionally at locations off campus
  • Manages the distribution of printed marketing materials across campus and other locations
  • Designs marketing materials including posters, social media graphics, publications, and other materials
  • Completes other related tasks as time allows as part of a dynamic organization

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
  • Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
