Operator-Laser 2nd Shift
Monday - Friday 3:00 pm- 11:30pm
Position Summary (major Areas Of Contribution)
The Laser Operator follows instructions on the job traveler to cut parts required to build product. The success of this position is based on effectively carrying out the following "Essential Functions of the Position."
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Perform various tasks related to operation of the laser and other duties as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with team, coworkers, management, and office personnel
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Meet company-wide continuous improvement, performance goals and safety policies
  • Perform basic computer skills
  • Read and operate measurement tools
  • Program CNC laser equipment
  • Create programs that nest parts utilizing company supplied software/computer
Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read and understand assembly drawings, sketches and blueprints.
Must be able to accurately identify measurements of parts and determine require machine operations from the measurement.
Basic math and mechanical ability
Perform typical laser cutting operations.
Operate the CNC laser cutting machine
Set up laser machine based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will go prolong periods standing or walking in an assigned area, is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must unaided lift up to 50 lbs.
