We are looking for a skilled, proactive Laser Operator to join our team and help us keep production moving seamlessly.

**Position Overview

**

Are you a sharp, forward-thinking laser operator who stays two steps ahead of the machine? Apex Laser is seeking an Experienced Laser Cutting Machine Operator who excels at troubleshooting, anticipates production needs, and takes pride in delivering flawless precision parts.

In this role, you won't just push buttons—you will program, optimize, and manage industrial laser cutting equipment to turn raw steel, aluminum, and stainless steel into high-tolerance customer components.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Machine Operation & Programming: Setup, program, and operate industrial laser cutting machinery to produce high-precision parts.
  • Material Handling: Work with various metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Safely load and unload materials using a forklift and manual lifting.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and customer specifications accurately.
  • Optimization & Troubleshooting: Adjust machine cutting conditions (gas pressure, focal point, speed) on the fly. Diagnose and resolve machine errors or cutting defects efficiently.
  • Proactive Planning: Anticipate workflow needs, stage materials, and plan next steps to minimize machine downtime in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quality Control: Maintain a sharp attention to detail, inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet strict quality standards.

**What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

  • Experience: Proven experience operating and programming industrial laser cutting equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to read blueprints, adjust cutting parameters, and navigate computer-based machine controls.
  • Proactive Mindset: Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to anticipate production needs before they arise.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift heavy objects and safely operate a forklift (certification preferred, or willing to certify).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with the team and understand customer requirements.
  • Detail-Oriented: A strict eye for quality and precision—close enough is not good enough.
