Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Laser Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Long Beach, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled sheet metal professional who enjoys working with advanced manufacturing equipment and producing high-quality precision components.

The Fiber Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring fiber laser cutting equipment to manufacture precision sheet metal parts based on blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber laser machinery, strong blueprint-reading skills, and a solid background in sheet metal fabrication.

This role offers a competitive $30 to $35/hour pay rate, a consistent Monday–Thursday 4/10 schedule, and the opportunity to transition into a long-term position with a respected manufacturing organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheet metal components
  • Load materials, select programs, adjust machine settings, and monitor cutting operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Perform quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall part quality before moving products forward
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine or production issues
  • Perform deburring, material handling, and support additional fabrication processes as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all manufacturing safety procedures
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements and production goals


Required Qualifications

  • Experience operating fiber laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience required
  • Ability to measure parts accurately and work within tight tolerances
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Experience with CNC laser systems, fabrication equipment, or related manufacturing machinery
