Job description

Role Overview

On our 3rd shift in Greenwood, IN, you’ll take ownership of the laser engraving cell—programming, setting up, and operating laser equipment to precisely engrave/etch metal components to print.

A Day in the Life

You begin the shift by reviewing the latest prints and job travelers. You pull the most current data from Engineering, confirm any unclear details, and then create efficient, accurate laser engraving programs. With files organized and verified, you set up the laser engraver according to specifications, run first articles, and inspect using calipers, micrometers, squares, and height gauges to confirm quality. Throughout the night, you keep electronic program files clean and up to date, document results, and adjust parameters to maintain consistency and throughput.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize laser engraving programs for metal parts.
  • Maintain and manage the electronic files used to program laser engraving equipment.
  • Collaborate directly with the Engineering Department to obtain the most accurate, current information and resolve ambiguities.
  • Set up and operate the laser engraving machine per drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform in-process and final quality checks using calipers, micrometers, squares, and height gauges.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related experience and/or formal training.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, and diagram/schematic instructions.
  • Solid math skills, including working with units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
