Job description

ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced French language instructor to provide in-person instruction at our facility in Rosslyn, VA. This position supports intensive classroom language instruction focused on listening, speaking, and reading skills.

  • Location: Rosslyn, VA (on-site classroom)
  • Assignment Length: 7/14/2026 - 7/28/2026
  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Schedule: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver intensive French language classes aligned with FSI-style test preparation and proficiency goals
  • Teach core language skills (listening, speaking, reading) using communicative, task-based, and proficiency-based methods
  • Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet learnersโ€™ specific skill levels and test preparation needs
  • Administer practice assessments and quizzes to monitor student progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and support independent language study
  • Integrate classroom activities that simulate FSI testing formats and task-based language use
  • Under the guidance of the language training supervisor, provide monthly reports of students' progress

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in French, linguistics, education, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of experience teaching French to adult learners in an intensive setting (4-6 hours/day)
  • Familiarity with the ILR proficiency scale and NFATC (FSI) testing protocols
  • Ability to develop materials and exercises aligned with test requirements
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Native or near-native proficiency in French
  • High proficiency in English sufficient for instruction and feedback
