Position Summary:

  • BrightView Sports Turf is seeking an experienced and motivated operations manager to support professional sports renovations, maintenance operations and special events. This position plays a key role in managing high-profile athletic field projects, supporting Major League Baseball events, leading field teams and building strong client relationships.
  • The ideal candidate brings a passion for sports turf, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the most recognized venues and events in professional sports while contributing to the growth of an industry leading sports turf program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of sports turf projects and maintenance activities at a dedicated baseball site.
  • Supervise, coach and develop seasonal team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and client requirements.
  • Responsible for day-to-day field management tasks associated with maintaining a professional baseball field

Account Management:

  • Support field renovations and maintenance projects from planning through completion.
  • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Monitor project schedules, budget, quality standards and client satisfaction
  • Support procurement and logistics for materials and equipment

Technical Support:

  • Provide expertise in natural grass and synthetic turf systems
  • Support field assessments, consulting engagements and technical reporting
  • Assist with development of maintenance programs and operational standards
  • Train field staff on best management practices and sports field maintenance techniques

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or associates degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Equivalent professional sports turf experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sports turf management, athletic field construction, or professional field maintenance experience.
  • Experience managing crews, subcontractors and client relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM) or ability to obtain
  • Sports Field Builders Association (SFBA) certification or ability to obtain
  • Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain in 90 days of hiring date
  • Experience supporting MLB, MiLB, MLS, NCAA, NFL or similar high profile venues

Travel Requirement:

  • Requires some domestic and international travel to support special events, project execution, client meetings.
  • Travel requirements may vary throughout the year based on field programming schedules and workload

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Intensity (HIGH), frequency (HIGH), and duration (HIGH) of physical/mental capabilities required.  Candidate will be required to work outdoors in inclement weather (heat/cold; rain/sun)

Work Environment:

  • 90% Outdoor Work Environment and 10% Indoor Work Environment (April – September)

Compensation Pay Range:

60000.00 to 70000.00

BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members. Benefits offerings for full-time team members include medical, dental, and vision insurance, ancillary and voluntary products, a 401k savings plan with employer contributions, and 6 to 9 company paid holidays per year. Employees may also be eligible to receive paid time off for vacation and/or sick leave, tuition reimbursement, and/or potential variable pay opportunities based on position and performance.
