Job description

Enhancement Field Manager - Landscape Maintenance

Position Description:

This position is responsible for managing labor and materials in the field to complete assigned enhancement projects. In addition, enhancement field managers must develop the people who report to them. Success in this position is indicated by jobs completed on time and on budget and low negative turnover of assistants and crew members. This position must cooperate with landscape management field managers and other enhancement field managers to see that the overall goals of the branch are met.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear understanding of the philosophies by which the company operates, the short-and long-term goals of the branch, and the financial position of the branch.
  • Get to know your people in an effort to help them develop within the company. Set goals with them and monitor their progress through timely formal and informal evaluations.
  • Be an active part of our training process by attending or conducting certification training sessions on a regular basis.
  • Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned enhancements.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of your jobs. Monitor by reviewing job hours, reports, and job costs regularly and acting as needed. Communicate budget hours to assistants and crew members.
  • Meet the client on every job.
  • Monitor quality of work by inspecting the job at the end of each day and getting a satisfactory completion form signed at the end of each day.
  • Sell an acceptable level of extras through the use of T&M tickets.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.
  • Monitor AM and PM procedures for your crew.
  • Complete daily time entry.
  • Maintain your vehicles and equipment so that they reflect our image and provide a safe operating environment for other employees.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill and ability to organize and schedule projects,
  • Experience managing others at some level.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to work with service customers.
  • At least one year of experience doing enhancement or landscape installation work in a commercial setting.
  • Two or four-year horticultural or related degrees and two years of industry experience. Additional industry experience or industry certifications can substitute for a non-related degree, two-year degree, or no degree.
  • Experience making hard and live material purchases and the ability to negotiate the best price.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license with a clean record over the last three years.

  • Mantener el vehiculo y el equipo asignados en buen estado de funcionamiento.
  • Calificaciones
  • Habilidad y capacidad demostradas para organizar y programar proyectos.
  • Experiencia en la gestion de otros en algun nivel.
  • Habilidad y capacidad demostradas para trabajar con clientes de servicio.
  • Al menos un ano de experiencia realizando mejoras o trabajos de instalacion de jardines en un entorno comercial.
  • Titulos de horticultura o relacionados de dos o cuatro anos y dos anos de experiencia en la industria. La experiencia adicional en la industria o las certificaciones de la industria pueden sustituir un titulo no relacionado, un titulo de dos anos o ningun titulo.
  • Experiencia en compras de material duro y vivo y capacidad para negociar el mejor precio.
