About Neighborhood Sushi
Neighborhood Sushi serves Japanese-inspired dishes in a casual & beautiful setting located in Dallas, TX. The re-imaged space was home to Lou Lambert s Liberty Pie & Catering, where Larry McGuire got his start 20 years ago.
Neighborhood Sushi provides guests an approachable sushi experience with influences of Texas flavors, Japanese design and Austin hospitality. Fresh & light soups, salads and small plates follow traditional sushi bar inspirations. Enjoy a selection of crispy seafood and local vegetable tempura.
Nigiri in classic cuts of Japanese Red Snapper, Sea Bream and Santa Barbara Uni are complemented by vegetarian preparations of Texas Sweet Corn topped with togarashi & serrano, and specialty bites like the Caviar Oyster with Japanese uni, salmon roe & sake ponzu. Rolls and hand rolls round out the menu with original arrangements of Fluke with tempura yam and almonds and Tempura Shrimp with Big Eye tuna and avocado.
We are seeking an Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of our culinary program. This leader will set the vision for the kitchen, drive menu innovation, and ensure exceptional food quality while managing operations, budgets, and a dynamic team. The role offers the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences in our stunning second-floor space featuring mountain views, outdoor patios, and a colorful Mexican-inspired interior.
What You'll Do:
  • Create and execute the restaurant's culinary identity.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence.
  • Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a professional and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, and food cost controls to maximize profitability.
  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Promote continuous learning, innovation, and professional development within the culinary team.

What You'll Bring:
  • Passion for Hospitality: Genuine enthusiasm for delivering extraordinary guest experiences.
  • Leadership: Proven success leading and inspiring culinary teams in high-end or boutique dining.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and cross-departmental communication skills.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, food and labor costs, and financial performance.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive culinary leadership, preferably in upscale or fine dining restaurants.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English required; fluency in Spanish preferred.

Schedule & Hours:
  • Full-time, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
