Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role performs inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods, and documents results in accordance with established quality procedures. Candidate must be able to travel to Orange CA for training for 6+ weeks. This role requires performing duties at two facilities located approximately one mile apart, with assignments determined based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform incoming inspections of materials, components, and assemblies using visual inspection, measurement tools, and documented inspection methods.
• Verify received items conform to purchase order requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, certificates, and approved supplier documentation.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to facilitate returns, replacements, and RMAs.
• Performing ERP system transaction as per standard procedures, when inspecting, accepting, rejecting or returning material to Vendor.
• Inspect and test components, housing, and finished assemblies of electromechanical instruments, finished power supply assemblies, sheet metal chassis, cables and wire harnesses, machined parts equipment, and measuring, indicating, and controlling instruments for conformance to specifications, using magnifying devices, test equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Review work orders, drawings, wiring diagrams, or other specifications and confers with supervisor, engineer, and other personnel to determine product dimensions and specifications.
• Examine electrical, structural, and mechanical components and housings for assembly, soldering, bonding, and finish defects per drawing, IPC 610, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements.
• Measure dimensions and verify parts, holes, grooves, and other points' locations using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
• Test electrical components and finished devices for electrical functioning, using electrical test equipment, such as oscilloscope, multimeter, voltmeter, and computerized test equipment.
• Test functional characteristics, such as freedom of movement, leaks, and torque, and tests device performance under simulated operating conditions using specialized test equipment.
• Enter and maintain inspection and test results records into the company inspection database and forms and present results to other staff for MRB processing or corrective action processing.
• Support the calibration of precision measuring instruments and assist with the recall of measuring instruments to be calibrated by a calibration supplier. Support data entry /record process using calibration database.
• Inspect and test purchased parts and materials and support receiving inspection function as well as support in-process inspection function or final inspection function.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 2 years of Electro-Mechanical inspection experience.
• Experience with either ISO 9001 or AS9100 in manufacturing supporting Aerospace or Defense industries.
• Inspection experience, including Electrical assemblies (i. e. completed power supply assemblies or PCBAs), electrical cables and wire harnesses, electrical components, mechanical assemblies, and machine parts.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) to the AS9102 Standard.
• 2 years of experience preparing source inspection packages and performing inspections and audits on inspection and test results for customers or DCMA/government source inspection.
• Due to the nature of IntelliPower's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
Desired Qualifications:
• AS degree or certified career courses for Inspection or Quality highly desired.
• Expertise in general inspection hand tools (i.e., calipers, go-no-go gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
• A working understanding of the following:
-Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
-Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y 14. 5, Product drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and Purchase Orders.
-IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 (certification preferred but not required)
-Manufacturing and inspection of black box electronic
• Oracle experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
