How much do temp metrology jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average yearly pay for temp metrology in the United States is $60,835.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $49,000.00 and $69,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Jobs in specialized fields such as temporary metrology consulting, high-level engineering, or executive roles can pay around $2,000 per day, especially for contractors with advanced skills, certifications, and experience. These positions often require significant expertise, project-based work, or working as an independent contractor in high-demand industries.

What degree do you need to be a metrologist?

A metrologist typically needs at least a bachelor's degree in fields such as physics, engineering, or applied sciences. Advanced positions may require a master's degree or specialized certifications in measurement and calibration. Practical experience and knowledge of measurement tools and standards are also important for this role.

What is the difference between Temp Metrology vs Calibration Technician?

AspectTemp MetrologyCalibration Technician
CredentialsTypically requires calibration or metrology certificationsOften holds calibration or technical certifications
Work EnvironmentLaboratories, manufacturing plants, quality control labsManufacturing facilities, labs, maintenance areas
Industry UsageUsed in industries requiring precise temperature measurementsUsed across various industries for equipment calibration
Job FocusSpecializes in temperature measurement accuracy and standardsFocuses on calibrating various instruments, including temperature devices

Temp Metrology and Calibration Technicians both work in environments requiring precise measurements. While Temp Metrology specializes in temperature measurement standards, Calibration Technicians calibrate a broader range of instruments, including temperature devices. Both roles often require similar certifications and are essential in quality control across industries.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

By 2030, roles heavily reliant on manual measurement and calibration, such as certain metrology technician jobs, may decline due to automation and advanced digital tools. Jobs that do not adapt to technological changes or lack digital skills are at higher risk of obsolescence, while roles requiring complex judgment and specialized knowledge are more likely to persist.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

Temp metrology roles typically do not pay $10,000 a month without specialized skills or certifications. High-paying jobs in fields like sales, real estate, or certain trades such as plumbing or electrical work can reach that income level through experience and commissions, often without requiring a college degree. These roles usually demand strong skills, networking, and sometimes licensing or certification.
