Special Testing Laboratories, a construction materials testing & inspection services company, is seeking a CWI Certified Structural Steel Inspector to provide scheduled steel inspection services on various construction job sites and steel shops.
As an Inspector, you will work closely with project superintendents to inspect the different phases of steel construction and to identify any discrepancies as necessary. Inspections will include (but are not limited to) assessment and inspection of both field and shop welding, metal decking, bolting, light gauge, cold-form framing, shear studs, ultrasonic, and column plumb. As an inspector, you will also be required to provide daily inspection reports and work closely with office staff on scheduling and reporting.
The ideal candidate should reside either in Connecticut or Westchester County, NY.
Job Requirements:
-AWS-CWI Certification or certification in progress
-Minimum education of a high-school diploma, college a plus
-Experience in the industry required
-UT Certification a plus
-OSHA Certification a plus
-Good written and oral communication skills
-Ability to work well with staff and clients in a professional manner
-Ability to handle multiple tasks
-A valid driver's license and have daily access to a reliable vehicle
