Job Overview

RF Test Development Engineer / Principal RF Test Development Engineer – Northrop Grumman, Baltimore, MD.

Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7am‑7pm (36hrs paid for 40hrs)
Travel: 10% of the time

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement RF and digital testing methods and equipment.
  • Support RF and digital hardware, troubleshoot issues, and provide training.
  • Maintain first‑time‑through test yield (FTTTY) and meet hardware delivery schedules.
  • Analyze test data, identify early trends, and compile data for tooling and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to develop hardware improvements and solutions.
  • Monitor product yields, maintain program yield targets, and report yield issues to program meetings.
  • Interface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, and program management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 2years of relevant experience;
    or Master’s degree plus 0years.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics, and block diagrams.
  • Experience with RF hardware/software and RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
  • Current, active DoD Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication across teams.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
  • Experience with FPGA, LabWindows CVI, C/C++ programming, and TestStand programming.
  • Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment and RF theory.
  • Knowledge of high‑speed digital interfaces (LVDS, PXI/PCIe, VME bus).
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting of electrical hardware.
Salary Range

$83,300 – $124,900 (base)
$102,400 – $153,600 (principal)
