Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will develop, optimize, and support manufacturing processes in a precision machinery and assembly environment. This role focuses on new product introduction, continuous improvement, and hands-on support of production operations, ensuring that products are manufacturable, repeatable, and cost-effective while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities Include

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for precision machinery and assembly operations.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and cost-effective.
  • Analyze production data to identify process variation, yield loss, and opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.
  • Support the implementation and validation of new equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Design custom fixtures using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain standard work, routings, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing challenges and improve processes.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide technical input to support operational decisions.
  • Play a key role in specifying, costing, preparing bills of materials, and integrating new manufacturing equipment, such as a Vertical Lift Module (VLM), into internal processes.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience working on the production floor in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining, precision assembly, and core manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD design software.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining and assembly operations.
  • Ability to analyze production data to identify process variation and yield issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root-cause analysis.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LabVIEW for data acquisition or test automation.
  • Experience working in an industry-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Mixed experience in both electrical/electronic systems and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with robotics, aerospace, and electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with precision machinery and assembly operations.
  • Exposure to CAD-driven fixture and tooling design.
  • Interest in learning and working with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, including automated inventory and material handling systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
