Job Description:Â
The Lead, HR Business Partner (Labor Relations) will report to the Director, Employee and Labor Relations and will be actively involved in the development and implementation of sector Employee and Labor Relation strategies centered on collective bargaining, contract administration, organizing campaigns, positive employee relations. This role will serve as the chief negotiator for select collective bargaining agreements. This position will be part of a team responsible for contract administration, grievance, and arbitration processes. Additionally, the role will be a key contributor to functional improvement projects for ELR.  Â
****Position can be in any of the locations listed above with the expectation that the selected candidate will work at the closest location to them.****
Essential Functions:Â
- Negotiate collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and labor contracts, as applicable.Â
- Assist in the development of business continuation plans (BCP).Â
- Provide interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) as well as guidance on its' proper application.Â
- Perform investigations and prepare grievance responses as needed.Â
- Engage in proactive grievance avoidance practices such as training leaders on how to manage a union workforce, understanding the CBA, and positive leadership practices.Â
- Offers expert mentorship and comprehensive training to field HR partners to develop and enhance the ELR acumen internally.
- Utilize trends and analytics to provide proactive recommendations and solutions to ELR problems.Â
- Identify and diagnose issues to develop, recommend, and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement/experience.Â
- Build and utilize relationships with functional HRBPs to influence business priorities within the functions.
- Manage projects and special initiatives within and outside the HR function.Â
- Participate in building and improving standard work for the ELR function.Â
- Chief labor negotiator with experience in developing and executing labor strategy and progressive labor solutions.Â
- Supporting a bargaining unit, including the interpretation and application of the CBA, grievance and arbitration processes, building relationships with union representatives, and understanding of labor laws.Â
- Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and consulting skills.Â
- Highly adaptable and able to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Â
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment as well as operate independently.Â
- Possess a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality with an eye for attention to detail.Â
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to analyze and display data.Â
- Knowledge of HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, and SuccessFactors.Â
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of Labor relations experience.
- Graduate Degree with seven (7)Â years of Labor relations experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 12Â years of Labor relations experience.Â
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
