Job description

Gator Dredging - Yard Laborer - Helper
Gator Dredging is looking for a safe, dependable, stable, and hardworking person for this the Yard Laborer - Helper. This position will be based out of our Yard / Shop located at 1401 Lake Ave SE, Largo, FL 33771. We are only seeking local applicants for the Yard Laborer - Helper.
Starting Hourly Pay Range for This Position: $18.00 to $20.00. This is based on previous work experience and skill level.
Responsibilities for the Yard Laborer - Helper:
  • General cleanup and maintenance of our shop yard and storage areas
  • Operating small hand tools and small power tools.
  • General building maintenance including change a/c filters, empty trash, replace paper goods.
  • General equipment maintenance includes washing, grinding, and painting.
  • Loading/unloading various tools, pipe, etc.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Deliveries to jobsites, misc. errands
  • Drive company vehicles to pick up parts and run errands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required for Operations.
  • Willing to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Requirements for the Yard Laborer - Helper:
  • Able to work outside for an entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) is required.
  • Having and maintaining a valid Driver's license with a clean driving record is Required.
  • Knowledge and experience operating set of small hand tools and small power tools.
  • Must be local to the Clearwater, St. Petersburg, or Tampa area.
  • Must have your own reliable transportation to and from work
  • Knowledge of repairing small engines a plus.
  • Welding and Mechanical experience a plus
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • OSHA Certifications are a Plus.
  • Experience driving a Truck with a boat trailer or 30-foot flatbed trailer a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment of The Laborer / Site Help:
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
