Avita Health System is proud to serve the communities of Crawford and Richland counties through three hospitals and numerous clinic locations. Over the past few years, we’ve tripled in size, now employing over 2,300 team members and more than 200 physicians and advanced practitioners. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to the people who depend on us.

We’re currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Supervisor to join our Laboratory Department at our Ontario location.

Position Overview

Responsible for maintaining procedures, quality control, continuous quality improvement (CQI), departmental manuals in compliance with CAP and the accrediting body’s guidelines, and recommending new procedures and tests. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the general operations of the Laboratory, including training, and scheduling. Responsible for reporting quality trends as well as inconsistencies to Laboratory Director. Supervises the performance of Laboratory staff in designated section under the direction of the Laboratory Director. Responsible for effective and consistent interdepartmental communications.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology, or Associate Degree or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited college.
  • Sufficient previous experience in all areas of the laboratory.
  • Adheres to regulatory requirements including all State, Federal and the accrediting body regulations.
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related science.
  • National certification by one of the following: American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
